Can you charge a taxi ride in Toronto?

Recommended Posts

I'm tying to figure out how much Canadian money I need to take with me and other posters have suggested using a credit card for most things, so I'm wondering if I can charge the cab ride from the airport to my hotel. Thanks in advance for any information that you might have.

If you are going airport to hotel YES you can use most major credit cards on all taxis. Toronto has fixed rates from the airport using a map with grids. There are also stickers in the windows or in the seat pockets in front of you to describe the charges that will be applied. On the other hand, if you pick up a taxi on the street to go from point A to B, then you should ask before you get in if they will take credit cards. Some do, most don't.
