ESR24 Posted September 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2006 Which ship is featured on the Carnival commercial that I've been seeing on tv?
Perrys100 Posted September 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2006 The Exterior is the Victory, I have taped it and played it back really slowly just to be sure. I understood from a previous poster that the couple dancing near the table may be in a supper club. There is NO supper club on the victory that is why I said poss a Victory Composite. So it may be several ships.
grammyandpoppy Posted September 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2006 If you study the commercial, it says Carnival Legend on the bow.
CruzVinnieCruz Posted September 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2006 If it's the commercial I watched it's the Victory. I did the same as the other poster caught it on a DVR and played it back almost frame by frame to catch the name.
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted September 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2006 The following is NOT a commentary on the type of people that sail on Carnival - we've all read those threads... but: I have YET to be on a cruise with people which resemble the groups that they show on their commercials. I know, I know, ALL commercials are that way! Just something that comes to mind when I see those commercials. I can see where SOME PEOPLE (yes, the shallow ones) might take a Carnival cruise expecting nothing but "beautiful people" and then... well, I have read those reviews also. You know the reviews, the ones that say "POSTS: 1" in the upper right hand corner  Tom

jstluvcrzn Posted September 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I have also been wondering which ship it is. I don't have anything to record it with, so I can't play it back. I am glad this question was asked. :)
emmysmommy Posted September 27, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2006 It drives me crazy trying to figure out the name on the ship during that brief scene - now I know!! :D I agree that it is probably a mix of (newer)ships for the interiors. Stevepse Posted September 27, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I don't think everyone is seeing the same commercial. I know that the one that I saw on Monday was the Victory (Gotta love DVRS!) :)
texas greeneyes Posted September 27, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I have yet to eat a burger at a burger joint that looked like the burgers on the commercials... Exactly...I haven't ever been shown a new car by an evening gown clad beauty either LOL!
MrPete Posted September 27, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I've also yet to see a moon that fills half the sky, appearing that we are in for an imminent collision.

Cotton Posted September 27, 2006 #13 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I've seen that comm'l dozens of times. The name on the side is Victory.
Caliber1 Posted September 27, 2006 #14 Share Posted September 27, 2006 If you look closely, the shot on the jogging track, the funnel in the background is a Spirit funnel, and the dancing shot at the end is in a Spirit class supper club. You can see the windows above. I'll let you know in Jan if it is the Legend or not.:D The rest of the exterior shots are Victory though. runner15km Posted September 27, 2006 #18 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Can't be the Victory. Nowhere does it show passengers hauling on ice chests, standing in the buffet line with their belly button showing or wearing jeans on formal night in the dining room.

Tom :) My sister always gets a chuckle at cruise commercials, so much of the cool fun stuff they show are the shore excursions or cost extra
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted September 27, 2006 #20 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Cheryl pointed out to me last night: When they are pouring the wine for the couple - the wine is poured directly out of the bottle.... whereas in real life they first pour into a small glass (carafe), and then into yours (when at a bar)... ahhhh... so glamorous! jetblue Posted September 27, 2006 #21 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I would like to note that there are 3 different versions of the Carnival commercial. All of them generally have the same exterior scenes, but all have different interior scenes. For example, the commercial which follows the older couple around the ship was entirely shot onboard the Carnival Legend. If you look carefully you can recognize the pattern of lights in the dining room scene, resembling the Truffles Restaurant, as well as the brief clip of the Vegas style show, which resembles was of the last scenes of the show Take II.
