gallslin Posted September 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2006 We're cruising to Bermuda on Oct. 14th. We're bringing our own snorkeling gear, and plan to spend most of our onshore time exploring the island beaches. So, to round out our trip, we're looking for a good, fun sightseeing cruise that doesn't involve snorkeling or Happy Hour. Does such a thing exist? It doesn't have to be something that we would book through the cruise agency. I considered the "WildCat" tour, but after reading 4 or 5 injury reports, decided it might not be the best thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! This will be our first trip to Bermuda, and we are the type of couple that likes to explore on our own, and that's one of the reasons we're not into the "group" snorkeling thing. Thank you!!! SandraLee Posted September 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I have been thinking of an excursion offered by Royal Carribean called "Famous Homes & Hideaways Cruise". Here is the description: "Join Captain Ronnie O’Connor on this is informative and entertaining sightseeing cruise of Bermuda. This tour will give you a wealth of historical facts as well as lots of humorous personal stories about the island. Cruise along the shoreline to view charming colonial homes, painted in pastel colours, that are steeped in history as well as exclusive neighborhoods known as “Millionaire’s Row”. Your captain will point out the homes of the rich and famous – such as Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones; playwright Eugene O’Neal, who’s daughter was married to Charlie Chaplin; and illustrator William Denslow, most famous for his work on the “Wizard of Oz”. Discover tranquil island hideaways only accessible by boat. You will see classic Bermuda landmarks such as Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse, which is the oldest cast iron lighthouse in the Western Hemisphere. Learn more about the Island’s past and present, flora and fauna and wonderful marine life as you gently cruise Bermuda’s exquisite turquoise blue waters." Sounds interesting, but don't know anything else about it.
