Agreed To Go On The Valor

Well I put up the good fight, but have finally agreed to go with my partner and some friends next year on the Valor. I have hesitated to book one of the mega-ships, but they wore me down! :p

I have always liked the intimacy of the smaller ships, and am concerned I will feel like cattle being herded on a ship this large, with this many people. And I keep picturing myself spending the entire week standing in lines.

I have started reading up on the ship, and although I like most of what I have seen, one thing I've read in a few places is problems with passenger flow. Sounds like a lot of up and down to get from one place to another.

I always go into a cruise with a positive attitude, and I certainly try not to look for problems. Anyone care to reassure me? :D Thanks!!

Valor is a beautiful ship & very easy to navigate. My favorite class of ships. I never found it crowded at all. You will never know there are that many people onboard.

Traffic flow is great on deck 5 were clubs & casino is located.Makes it much easier to find your friends if you decide to do different things.

Hope you have a wonderful cruise. I would cruise on Valor again in a heartbeat.

Just finished my 2nd Valor cruise. You only notice the large amount of PAX when you are in the buffet, and the shows. Any ohter time the ship does not show that packed like sardines feeling. They sectioned the buffet "Rosie's" into 3 sections to help the flow and it really works. Hint #1 when you see the large tile mosaic of Rosie the Riviter, go up those stairs to the Fish and chips. They are the best and there are always tables available there if Rosie's is too crowded. They also have theor own beverage station so no climbing up and down the stairs with beverages. And the desert station is right at the bottom of those same stairs.

To navigate easily on public (Not stateroom) decks remember decks 5 and 9 go all the way through... from stem to stern

The Valor is a great ship! The only time I really noticed the crowds was in line... after port, trying to get something to eat is nearly impossible... get something to eat in port!! LOL! Other than that, it really never felt that crowded... yes, a little moreso that the Fantasy class ships (which is still my favorite :D) but you will love the Valor!!! Had a fabulous time!!

I agree. We were on the Valor in the begin of Sept. I did not find it that crowded at all. The only time I notices a crowd was coming back from port in Belize to get something to eat. The lines were fair long for the burgers. Also, the lines for the tenders to return to the ship were rather long. Other then that no lines per se.

Go have a blast.

The Valor is the perfect ship to be on for your first megaliner experience.

The only lines that i ever really had to wait any amount of time was the deli $ hamberger lines and that was right in the midddle of lunch, any other time you will not even know there are 3000 other people aboard.

Have a great time!

I sailed the Valor Sept. 2005 and I loved the ship. I must admit like a few others have said, embarkation was a nightmare, lines galore! As far as eating, we didn't notice a huge crowd. The ship holds almost 3,000 people but once on board, I never felt overcrowded or anything. Learning your way around may be a bit tricky at first because only 2 decks go all the way from forward to aft. You may have to go down one way to come back up another but you'll figure it out after a few tries. Have fun!

Husband ( WENNFRED ) and I cruised on the Valor last March. She is a beautiful ship. She is a big one, and I think it is Deck 5 that goes the length of the ship. She isn't so bad to navigate. Yes, there were a lot of people. I think we went during Spring Break, but the lines didn't seem to bad.

The 2 levels of shops were cool. And the plus for Fred was that there was WI FI on the entire ship. He was so happy to do his "LIVE FROM THE VALOR" from our state room.

You will have a wonderful time! If you are doing the Belize and Honduras ports, they are BEAUTIFUL places.
