Gator Bait Posted October 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2006 Was anyone on the Miracle last week? Did they skip Belize because of unrest? We were in Belize last week (28th) on the Miracle. No problems we did a city tour with Ecological Tours. Just DH and myself in a taxi, rained like crazy, but the tour was great. If there was any unrest, then we didn't see it. Rare silentbob007 Posted October 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2006 There always seems to be some sort of unrest in Belize. This is why most people say not to go outside of the gated area unless you are with a tour. I'm sure, for the port to be cancelled, "unrest" must turn into "clear and present danger" for cruise ship passengers.
DqALEX Posted October 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2006 Was anyone on the Miracle last week? Did they skip Belize because of unrest? I would still feel safer in Belize than jamaica
redhead1 Posted October 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2006 I just checked several message boards I frequented when I was getting ready for my Belize trip last December. Everything looks business as normal. Belize is a wonderful country. Civil unrest usually consists of public bus strikes and hyperbolic newspaper headlines. MUCH safer than Jamaica.
