bermudabride5 Posted October 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2006 Hello-I am in need of some help. My fiance & I are taking the Zenith from NJ to Bermuda in June 2007 to be married. We are in the process of deciding to go w/Celebrity to plan our event or if we should go with a hotel. I am looking at the Elbow Beach Resort. We are not certain on the amount of guests that will be traveling w/us, but our estimate is about 20-30. We were just worried if we go w/Celebrity it may be really cheesy:rolleyes: Has anyone used Celebrity to plan their wedding and if so I would love to hear how everything went. Any advise would be helpful!! Also, we don't want to be spending a fortune, but do want a nice event. Thanks.
caviargal Posted October 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2006 I am getting married in Key West while on board Century next months and did the same research. While I have read good things about Celebrity Weddings, I found that I could pull off a very nice event for less than one fourth the price by booking my site ceremony, flowers, notary and reception ( a brunch for 14) on my own. Plus, I am selecting exactly the flowers, etc, that I want without being "upgraded" to death at extra costs to get what I want. If you are a good planner and don't mind putting the work into it, you can save more than enough to pay for your honeymoon and do something far more special for less money. JMHO. cat616 Posted October 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 4, 2006 If you chose to get married in Bermuda be sure to research the legal requirements. Do a web search and you will find all you need. Congratulations and Happy Travels Cindy
Deb C. Posted October 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2006 BermudaBride5:  Also check into cancellation penalties if the ship cannot get to Bermuda due to hurricane, etc. (Land based vs. ship). Good luck!! Deb C.
