Carry-on question

I'm aware of all the new TSA rules about the plastic bags, etc., but I'm unclear about how many items we can carry on. Is it just one carry-on or one carry-on PLUS a personal item (purse,laptop, etc) as before? In other words, do I have to get a larger carry-on so I can put my purse in it?

not to worry .. it continues to be one carryon PLUS a personal item. In addition, if you have any sort of medical device such as a cane or cpap you can have that as well w/o it counting against your carryon or personal item allowance.
