jakz2fun Posted October 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Hi, We are going to be in Cozumel on Christmas Day. Does anyony have any idea what may be open/or closed that day? Thanks
IslandJim Posted October 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2006 A little later than normal maybe, but most waterfront stores and almost all bars and restaurants will be open to serve visitors on Christmas. Christmas Day has a different significance here than in the U.S., favoring the celebration of the life of Jesus and in January their traditional Three Kings Day is for things such as gift giving. This doesn't relate to store openings on Christmas, but gives you some insight to the community atmosphere in that season. http://www.nacnet.org/assunta/nacimnto.htm
jakz2fun Posted October 5, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Thanks Island Jim, I was hoping it would be less commercial than it is here in the states.
