The Chancellor Hotel in San Fracisco?

Has anyone stayed at the Chancellor Hotel in San Fracisco? We were going to stay in Fisherman's warf but my TA told us about this hotel in Union Square. I know it's an older hotel but is a good, safe place to stay?

I have not stayed there, but it is ranked #5 of SF hotels on Tripadvisor. It is a good location for shopping and shows. You can take the cable car to fishermans wharf. Go to Tripadvisor.com and you can read reviews from people who have stayed there.

The Chancellor is well-located, and best of all: if you are at all interested in working out, you can use the facilities at the St. Francis FREE while guests at the St. Francis have to pay! It is a very nice hotel, and we have stayed there many times. The rooms are somewhat small, but unless you intend to play basketball in it, who cares:D . Your TA is right on.

 

If you will have a rental car: BEWARE of the very $$$$$ parking charges in the City. Best not to rent a car until you are ready to move on as the public transportation in SF is excellent.
