KalenaD Posted October 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2006 We will be in Tortola from 2:00-11:00 on Dec 5th. Can anyone tell me the best place to watch the sunset? Maybe with a nice beach front bar. We are travelling with my parents and would like to have a nice drink and watch the sunset. Any suggestions? Pyrate13 Posted October 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Bananakeets on Windy Hill, Superb! It's not beach front but once you see it you will understand why it is such a great place to watch the sunset.
CaWino Posted October 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I agree, Bananakeets is great. If you want you feet in the sand, on a beach, Myett's at Cane Garden Bay was pretty good IMHO
KalenaD Posted October 10, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Thanks for the suggestions, it doesn't HAVE to be a beach. Do you happen to know the cab fare to bananakeets, from the cruise docks? Thanks again
Pyrate13 Posted October 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Not off hand but I will check on it and see what I can find out.
tootiesmom Posted October 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2006 I'm interested in this question also. We'll be at Tortola during our November cruise and we're looking for something to do in the evening since our time will be from 2:00 - 10:00 pm. tootiesmom
Pyrate13 Posted October 10, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2006 As far as I was able to find, a taxi for two from Road Town to Banankeets would be around $25.
colonialinnkeeper Posted October 12, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2006 We were on the Noordam in March and went to Cane Garden Bay for the afternoon. It is a really pretty beach with lots of casual bars. There are trees to sit in the shade if you wish and the shape of the beach is a slight crescent. You can walk for quite a bit. The sand is very soft under your feet and the water very warm. The sunset we saw was one of the most perfect we've seen in the Caribbean. We took lots of pics with the sail boats and tall masts against the sunset. It wasn't digital or I would send one off. We haven't been to the other place so can't compare the two. We are going back in November on the Westerdam and plan to do the same thing this time.
