I was curious if anyone knows of a place in Aruba is rent Segways. We rented them in Cozumel and had a ball. Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this subject.

None that I am aware of. Have never heard of them being available for rent in Aruba and have never, including 3 weeks ago, seen a single one.

ArubaLisa-

The security people at many of the resorts have been using Segways for more than a year now......so there are several in Aruba.

I've personally seen them in use at La Cabana and the Surf Club.

I do not believe that they are available for rent, as of yet, on the island.

There is now a Segway company in Aruba. They only opened up in 2012 and do not just rent them out, you must go on their tour. We did the lighthouse tour and had a wonderful time with our guide Danny.

We stayed in Aruba last week and took the Segway tour to the California Lighthouse. There were five of us who were all beginners. They picked us up at our hotel and took us to Moomba Beach where our guide, Danny gave us a quick lesson on how to ride the segways. After we were all comfortable on them, we headed north toward the lighthouse sometimes on the road but mostly off road. The segways are amazing because it was so easy to use them even when we were going uphill. We pulled over at times to look at the scenery and have some water. As far as I'm concerned this is the best way to get to the lighthouse. We passed a group of bicyclists who were pedaling hard to get there. We could tell that one of the guys was not too happy cycling so I told him that we weren't pedaling because we were on vacation. :)

Did you book and pay for this way ahead of time......or once you got to Aruba from the hotel? Not sure when to book for a November, 2014 visit. Usually cruise, but will be there for 5 days in November.

Thanks!

Thanks!

We booked and paid ahead of time. I wouldn't wait until you arrive because with only six segways, they probably keep them booked as much as possible. Enjoy your stay!
