lovebug33 Posted October 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Thanks for all the help with my heels (I am currently trying the bag balm route). Now, I need help with what jewelry and shoes to wear with my dress. I was going to wear my mom's QVC necklace, but it didn't look right. Now, remember that with my chest size, this dress has near-hooker cleavage on me, so I need something to distract from that! TIA! Oh, and the dress is blue! http://www.davidsbridal.com/social_dresses_detail.jsp?stid=2332&prodgroup=
FinelyRetired Posted October 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2006 IMHO, you don't need a necklace with that dress. The halter top straps would interfere with it and probably prevent it from hanging straight and the "jewel/pearl/beadwork" at the bodice/cleavage will "fight" with it. How about just some sparkley, dangly earrings and a small bracelet? Pretty dress and if you've got the great cleavage it requires........you'll look terrific. Have a great cruise. forpaws Posted October 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2006 I also don't think you need anything else at the neckline with this dress. :) With the halter style and the gathers (and rhinestones?-I can't tell from the picture), I think the neckline speaks for itself. And if I were you, I would definitely NOT feel the need to detract attention from the cleavage issue! Many of us do not have that problem. Let the neckline speak for itself and enjoy the looks you'll undoubtedly get throughout the evening. As far as the shoes...I'm not sure what color blue the dress is so I can't speak to the shoe color...but I'm definitely thinking sexy strappy sandals or slides, maybe? :D Definitely go with pretty earrings and a bracelet. And be sure and consider your hairstyle for the evening. And above all, have FUN! ;)
diamond girl 000 Posted October 17, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Make earrings your focus on this one. If you try to put a necklce with it, you'll not only draw more attention to the cleavage factor - it will fight with the beading that is probably what made you love the dress! A really cool rhinestone hair clip would work if you wanted to go a little more glam. ;) Silver or black shoes work with almost anything evening. Have fun!! BlueHerons Posted October 17, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2006 To be blunt, make your cleavage your accessory. Ad a nice pair of chandelier earings and you are set. If you are chesty, because the top is busy, you should not wear a necklace. Way too much going on.
Cptnkirky Posted October 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2006 I agree...no necklace for this one. Some very pretty (sparkly) chandelier earrings and a bracelet would look great. :)
Jane110 Posted October 17, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Another vote to skip the necklace and keep jewelry to earrings and bracelet.
lovebug33 Posted October 18, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Thanks, ladies! I always think I have to wear a necklace, bracelet AND earrings. I have some very dressy earrings and sparkly bracelet, so I'll go with that!
