when we were on Volendam in alaska last month we had ESPN the whole time, so you'lll be able to get Monday Night and highlights but

no Sunday! Perhaps your ship will have more channels??

Hey Frogger22!

I was going through my pictures and i saw a fuzzy one of you guys on leaning out of your verandah at Glacier Bay.

I too was disapointed by no Sunday games on board.

Cheers!

Woaaahh...!

I second BonsterSD's question about Sunday Football on the Oosterdam.

I am sailing on 12/9 on the Oosterdam, and the first Sea Day is a Sunday. My Chargers are playing the Broncos!!!! I have been telling my wife and my Dad how excited I am to watch the game with them on board on the Sea Day.

I'm HOPING that they'll get CBS, which will have the game.

They have a SPORTS BAR on board, so I'm really hoping they'll have it. Would be so fun to watch the game while cruising down the coast of Mexico.

Anyone have any feedback on getting CBS or Fox Sunday games on the Oosterdam in the Sports Bar OR in the cabins??

Thanks a bunch...

(oh, and go Chargers :) )

ayayay... I hear you, BonsterSD!

Yes, I sure hope they can get CBS.

I did find varying posts on this. Sounds like it kind of depends. If they get it, it will be via sattelite. I did find a couple posts where people did get to see Sunday NFL, but I think it's a little bit iffy.

One post I found said: "...on Sunday of the 12/3/2005 "O" cruise they did change ESPN to CBS and showed the pro football games."

So I guess there's some hope- maybe someone who's been on the Oosterdam recently, and who's a football fan, will have some more info. (It's even ok if they're not a charger fan - hehe).

Football???

Arsenal v. Man U?

roughriders vs Eskimo?

Geelong vs. Brisbane?

Oh, American Football - well the Eagles did just beat Uruquay to win a place in the world cup next fall, but I don't thinkthere's anything scheduled for them the rest of this year....

LoboJ: I posted on the O October 7 roll call and this was a response I got:

"there were some sports on, but they were having lots of TV and phone system problems, They had started upgrades in drydock and were working on them up until the azipod failure. When that failed, the booted those people working on the phone and TV off in Mazatlan so they could accomodate the engineers that would be working on the azipod. I am not sure if they ever got hte TV situation straightened out. We did watch part of the Michigan game on Saturday before sail away though"

So, maybe by the time of your sailing everything will be in working order...it seems quite questionable though for my Saturday sailing. I told my husband the Charger game may not be on and when he starting pouting, I told him he could stay home and watch it....needless to say...he's going on the cruise. (BTW, I am a huge football fan too, but there's always the casino to keep me occupied).

Go Chargers!

LoboJ! Exactly! How am I supposed to watch the Chargers stomp the Chiefs this Sunday if they don't have CBS?!! How is my husband supposed to enjoy his first cruise if he can't watch football on vacation?

Here, Here!!!! San Diego Super Chargers!!!! That is the San Diegan part of me coming out. I feel like I have split personalities sometimes lol.

Football... I love it all. American Football (Chargers) , "normal" football (Liverpool) and gaelic football (Antrim).

A number of satillite (sp?) channels for other parts of the world cover American football. I watch it on Sky which is a UK channel.

Thanks for the update BonsterSD!

Sounds like you will know the answer first hand this Sunday. I have my fingers crossed for you (and your husband). Just seems so perfect, with Sunday being a sea day-- What a cool idea, relaxing with a beer and some great cruise food, watching your team while heading south to Mexico. ahh. My wife and my dad are fans too, and they'll be on board for our December run.

Where in San Diego are you from? We're in the Bay Park/Mission Bay area.

I'm jealous you are leaving on Saturday!

Have fun- Sounds like you will even if the game's not on. Hopefully it WILL be, though, and hopefully you will be watching our bolts win keep it rolling against those Chiefers.

Cheers,

LoboJ

LoboJ: I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we actually hit all our ports...word on the boards is that the ship still isn't up to full speed. My husband picked this cruise to go surfing in every port...he'll be bummed if he can't surf in Cabo.

Anyway, we live in PB. I wonder if we know you and your wife. We hang out at GT Charlie's...ever been there? Also, my husband is a bartender at McGregor's next to the Q.

Hey Bonster-

Sure, I've been to GT Charlie's before! (I used to live in PB). I go to McGregor's all the time too.

Yep, I'm sure we've been in the same places at the same times. We also go to Cass St. and Sandbar quite a bit. I ride my cruiser all over PB/Mission on the weekends... even this time of year- got to love San Diego!

Wow I hope the Oosterdam runs well for you and that you do hit all your ports! We have been to Cabo many times and it's one of our favorite spots. I would hate to miss that one. I've never surfed there, but I do always snorkel there, and we love that town. (Tabascos on medano beach = some goood fish tacos).

Oh by the way, the other part of that post that I saw said the the Navigation Officer may be the one who can direct the satellite dish to get CBS or a station that might get the NFL games.

Good luck getting the games, and good luck with the Oosterdam- I'm sure they are working hard on it for ya.

LoboJ: San Diego is the biggest small town I've ever lived in. Well, you probably know my husband then from McGregor's...his name is Geno. As he works nights, he too is riding his cruiser at the beach almost every day (after he surfs of course).

I'll keep the Navigation Officer in mind when begging for our Chargers game. I hope to post some goods news live from our cruise.

Good luck and have fun on your cruise, Bonnie!!

I'm jealous you guys are leaving tomorrow. Should be a blast. Sounds like your husband will get some Cabo surfing in hopefully.

I'll be interested to hear how it goes with the azipod issue and of course with the Chargers... I hope you get to watch them take down the Chiefs while having a cocktail in the sports bar off the coast of Mexico!

Have a great trip....!

And here was me thinkin' you'd be holding out for the hurley.....

Oh hurley is even better than (g) football.....lol. You know hurling? Cool. I was talking about football. :) Up Antrim! After my Hubby went to America to visit my family he is now a Chargers fan and stay up late with me to watch the matches.

I used to live in PB, Kensington, La Mesa and Santee. My mother lives near Fashion Valley.

I like hurley, but the only time I get to see it is if the All-Ireland final is on some obscure cable TV channel. LaCrosse (but that stick has webbing) is about as close as we get.
