Observations on the Conquest

Got back Sunday from our first Carnival cruise. The maitre d' annouced the first evening that shorts and t-shirts were not acceptable attire for the dining room. No mention of jeans. Our table was toward the front, but to be honest, we wre having such a good time that I never noticed if anyone was turned away from the dining room. I did see jeans in the dining room, even on formal night. Everything from ripped and torn to designer. But for the most part, the men were in suits or sportscoats with ties on formal nights. There was the occassional tux, and some in more casual wear.

And on a very nice note, one of our roll call members even brought suits & tuxes their son had outgrown and gave them to us for our DS (even a few tux shirts and bow ties). We offered to pay them, but they said they were just happy someone would use them. They knew our DS is 5 and their son is either 10 or 11. That was a wonderful surprise.
