prices on board ship

help required for two country folk who are 1st time cruisers.

going on millie in sept, 07, in med.

we do like our drink, on holiday, we are looking for help with prices and tips to keep the cost down ( if possible ) any advice would be welcomed.:)

Alcohol drinks run anywhere from $4 to $8 with some drinks and brands higher. There is a drink of the day that usually costs in the area of $3.75. A decent bottle of wine is $25 to $40 a bottle.

I thought the drink of the day was $4.75 plus the 15%?

And the drinks I drink usually start at about $6.95 plus the 15% with the Martinis topping out at $10.93 including the 15%.

Decent wine can be had for around $35 plus the 15%.

If you are going a Mediterranean cruise one way to keep the cost down would be to stay on the ship! Everything on land is going to be expensive. Drink prices on Celebrity are higher than some other lines. Learn to sip- not gulp. That's how I manage.

just pack an extra bottle or two in luggage,and that should cut it down a bit eh:)),i hear alot of people are doing this lately to even things out a bit,so why not you could have a couple in cabin before supper,does'nt that that sound good:))enjoy your holiday;) :p

May I ask, are the drinks of the day a smaller measure ? If so I think I may stick with the regular ones off the menu. Have never cruised before, so many cocktails to choose from and try. Glad you are feeling better now, we will be onboard with you on 3rd Nov.
