Past Carnival Glory Cruisers

Hi everyone! Well I guess since I've never been on a cruise I need to really know what to expect? Also can I bring my own brand of soda/water with me? What is REALLY included in my cruise? What will I pay for besides excursions? Also excursion wise when I flew to the Bahamas 3 years ago I had a far better time in the local out of the way places rather than the "tourist traps", my cruise includes ports in Cozumel, Belize, Costa Maya and Freeport. Anyone have any experience with any of those ports and things NOT touristy? Also am very interested in cave tubing in Belize, anyone tried this? How expensive is it? By the way thank you guys for all being so nice to this newbie! I do appreciate it!:D

Welcome to the boards. And let me tell you, you may be a newbie now, but you will be a cruise addict after your 1st cruise. So glad you found these boards before your 1st cruise, I didn't. I went on the Glory this year and she is absolutely beautiful. Try to learn the layout before your cruise so you don't spend a lot of time getting lost. Go all the way forward on deck 6 or 7 and go out the secret door to the forward deck. Great for when in port or sailaway. Hardly anyone ever goes out there. Did eastern so I can't help you with your ports. You can go to the individual port section for more help. I am giving you the deck plan for Glory, print it out and familiarize yourself with where everything is located. It will help a lot. You will have a good time and get lots of good info on these boards.

Lot's of questions; I will attempt to address one or two. What is not included in the price of your cruise:

Alcohol

Soda

Gambling cost, including Bingo

Spa services

Tips

Reservations only supper club (alternative dining)

Purchases in onboard shops

Shore excursions

Specialty coffees

Yes, you can bring your own soda onboard (in reasonable quantities)

Belize is a tender port (no dock). Highly recommend an organized shore tour at this port either through Carnival or on your own. Cave tubing is most popular here and it's offerred thru the ship for about $90. There are a number of local individual tour operators that offer the same excursion for about $45 (I recommend Reggie, http://www.regtour.com).

Was on the Carnival Legend last Nov and went to Belize. Did cave tubing with cavetubing.com. Has a great time. Got a tour of the city, did 2 caves and had an amazing lunch (lunch not included). Saved $45 pp. Well worth it. Going on the Glory in Nov 07. Let me know how it is!
