Grand Princess Mini-Suite Question?

My husband and I just booked a mini-suite on the Grand Princess British Isles cruise sailing from Southampton UK on August 21, 2007. This will be our first cruise with Princess.

We are booked in mini-suite D237 (starboard). Anyone have any personal experience with mini-suites on the Grand Princess? (Other than the balconies on the Dolphin Deck not being covered)

I've read that mini-suites on a number of Princess ships were/are in the process of being upgraded. True? If so, have the minis on the Grand been refurbished as of this date ~ October 20th 2006? Thanks for any info you can provide!

I've started a Roll Call for this itinerary: Grand Princess ~ British Isles ~ August 21, 2007 From Southampton UK in the appropriate area of the Cruise Critics Forum. The underlined title of the roll call is an active link ~ just click it to go there. Looking forward to hearing from fellow cruisers on this sailing! :D

This is what the Grand mini's should have, especially after this drydock:

Mini-Suites -- In Room Amenities

• Luxury mattresses

• Luxury ivory satin pinstripe bed linens

• Fluffy duvets in place of blankets

• Luggage protector on bed at embarkation

• Pillow menu - option of feather or therapeutic pillows

• Luxury towels

• Glass of champagne at embarkation

• Upgraded bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion)

We should know more in November as our CC freinds report back on the new and improved Grand!

These upgrade are a work in progress. We sailed on the Grand last March and the following upgrades had been completed for the mini-suites:

• Luxury ivory satin pinstripe bed linens

• Fluffy duvets in place of blankets

• Luggage protector on bed at embarkation

• Luxury towels

• Glass of champagne at embarkation (actually left the htree of us a whole bottle)

• Upgraded bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion)

The following were not done last March:

• Luxury mattresses

• Pillow menu - option of feather or therapeutic pillows

I would expect that all of them will be completed when she comes out of dry dock.

Enjoy!
