Doable going from Shanghi to Beijing then HongKong?

Does it sound doable to leave the ship in Shanghi (been there), fly to Beijing for 2-3 nights (never been there) see the Great Wall and other sites , then fly to meet our ship again in Hong Kong (been there) ?? We'd only be missing a sea day.

 

Could you recommend a guide to meet us at the Beijing airport and spend the next 2 days with us?

It's definitely do-able.

Flying in China is less hassle and less expensive than in the USA.

But bear in mind that all three cities you are looking at have airports that are located quite a long distance from the city centres. You will need to dedicate quite a bit of travel time for airport transfers.

The Mag-Lev train to Shanghai Airport is pretty fast.

You will need to take a long but inexpensive taxi ride in Beijing.

The train or limousine bus from Hong Kong Airport is convenient, but takes time.

 

You also need to ensure that your China Visa will allow you to stay inside the country after your ship has departed, and allow you to fly to Hong Kong from China.
