BrynnP Posted October 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2006 I've read many posts that say the taxis are lined up near the pier when passengers disembark, and it's easy to hire one. Our ship does not arrive in Tortola until 1:00. Will the liklihood of there still being a few taxis around be pretty small? Will we find ourselves stranded by that time of the day? We considered renting a car, but with the steep roads, driving on the left, and only having 3 1/2 hours of daylight, we feel better hiring a taxi. Pyrate13 Posted October 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2006 There will still be plenty of taxis, they keep track of when a sip is due in and since that is their livelihood you can bet they'll be there!

michmike Posted October 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2006 or if you have your cell w/ you, you can call Tobin at Tobin's taxi service at 1-284-499-2159. We used him 2 weeks ago when we were in Tortola to take us to dinner and ocme back and pick us up. He has a recent model Ford van. Very personable. He also offers island tours. I have no idea what the cost would be. Can just tell you that we were impressed with him.
