Self Serve Laundry On Ships

I have seen a few people mention that some of the ships have a self serve

laundry on board. I cannot find them listed on the ship deck plans. Where

are they located and do you hear any noise from them in the rooms

adjoining them. We are on deck #7 for our up coming cruise.

MOONMOUNTAIN,

Which ship are you crusing on? Most of the ships have laundryrooms, but they aren't shown on the deck plans. There are no passenger rooms next to them. We have been near it on one ship and the noise was no problem. Just convienent! :) The little deck-plan you get when you board will show where they are. Hope you have a wonderful trip where ever you are going! Thankfully we are Platinum now and they do the laundry for me. :D

All Carnival ships have passenger laundry rooms, usually one or two on each deck. Yes, there are cabins on each side and across the hall from the laundry rooms, but I've never heard anyone on these boards complain about there being any issue with noise.

The laundry rooms have washers, dryers, ironing boards, and irons. A nice convenience, since irons aren't allowed in cabins. I believe it's $2 to wash and $2 to dry, and there are dispensers for little packets of washing powder and fabric softener.:)

Eo you know what deck you will be on? I know that on Spirit Class ships the laundry room is all the way aft (right across from the aft cabins) on deck 5 and all the way forward on deck 6. I believe they have them on all the other passenger decks too but I'm not sure of the location.

I believe (memory may not be helping much) that when we were on the Spirit in 02 we were on deck 8 mid ship and just went down one flight to get to the closest laundry. On the Pride(sister ship) we were on deck 5 aft and the laundry was across the hall from us right next to a fire safety room (they even had a fire drill ran while in port one day which was interesting to see).

Do these machines use the S&S card or cash? currency or coins?

TIA

They use quarters.

You wont see the laundry room on any deck plan:

Check out the laundry room across the hall from 5268. There is a laundry room there.

2.00 for wash. 2.00 for dryers. 1.00 for detergent.

These rooms are very crowded on formal nights with everyone wanting to iron.

After port visits they are also very busy with people trying to dry their beach clothes.

I got this from someone on the boards......

4 laundry rooms:

Riviera Deck (Deck 1) - Midship

Main Deck (4)

Upper Deck (5) - Forward

Empress Deck (6) - Forward

Hope this helps.

I take pre-measured dry laundry detergent. I put it in ziploc bags and it's easy to pack as it will fit anywhere - then just throw in some fabric softener. That way you know you have detergent that won't break you out, plus - what if the machine is broke or out????

As mentioned it gets VERY busy on formal nights. You are better off taking some time the 1st night onboard or the morning of to press any items you need.

The machines take quarters only. I take my own powder soap in a zip loc and a sheet of bounce. They do not take much space and the machines for soap/softner need quarters also.

I always wash one load mid week so we do not have to pack so much.

What ship was this for?

On the spirit class the laundry was on deck 5 aft and nothing on deck 6.

We had to go down to aft deck 5 or forward on deck 7
