You will just get waitlisted and they will let you know if you get one when you get onboard. If one was available, it would confirm your reservation and it would let you book it so check them all out and see if any are available. If not, just get waitlisted.

We are doing our first cabana Dec 12th. Thinking about the butler service which sounded terrific.

For the four of us that shared the cabana, the BUTLER UPGRADE was icing on the cake for the "celebrations" that each of the couples was cruising for...if we all were'nt celebrating something, we might have just stayed with the "basic" cabana at $219 for the four of us ($54.75 per person).

The BUTLER UPGRADE at $270 extra for the four of us ($67.50 per person) was a "gift" we gave ourselves. Granted none of us partoke of the unlimited alcoholic beverages that the BUTLER UPGRADE includes...so HAL made money on us there! But, if you factor in all the "services" the Butler did for us (escorting us from our cabin to HMC and back to our cabins, carrying all our "stuff", getting HMC shuttles for us whenever we needed to go somewhere, getting whatever food & beverages we wanted after the initial cabana "soft" beverages and snacks were depleted, and serving us our delicious filet mignon luncheon from the Pinnacle Grill, procuring our snorkel equipment from Water Sports, etc), the extra $67.50 per person didn't seem so exhorbitant for a day in paradise. If we'd had lunch in the Pinnacle Grill on our own...that would have cost us an extra $10-$20 per person. So, in actuality, the BUTLER UPGRADE factored out to only $47.50 for each one of us.

Mind you, if we weren't "celebrating", we probably wouldn't have gone the extra expense of the BUTLER UPGRADE...especially if our ship was the only one on Half Moon Cay that day!

I know you'll enjoy HMC no matter what you decide to do!

I have a question about the butler upgrade. Are you on a schedule that day if you do the butler, i.e., do you have to take the first tender or could you just have the butler take your stuff to the cabana for you? Getting off the ship by 8:15 is a little early for me. Also, what if you want to leave earlier?

For l929...

One of the perks of the BUTLER UPGRADE is the ability to be on the first tender boat over to Half Moon Cay, but I'm sure that if you'd like to go at a later time, that can be arranged when you talk with the ship's staff member the day before your HMC arrival. You can also return to the ship from HMC at any time you desire with your Butler...but, I must ask the rhetorical question...why would you want to leave "paradise" any sooner than you had to?

Debjo-

Yeah, I guess it does seem a little bizarre, but I have two small children so if they get antsy or had too much sun, I want to be able to take off if need be. Just want to know the option is there, dont want to exercise it though, that's for sure!

That's a GOOD answer from a GOOD parent...and probably the only reason one would have to leave "paradise" before the staff pushes you off the island to get back on the ship!
