Magazine Street to Port=how far?

We are staying at the Country Inns and Suites...Does anyone know how far at 315 Magazine st would be from the pier? Taxi would be my best bet not walking probably? Has anyone stayed here? THANKS

It's about 1/2 mile, maybe a little further. Taxi would be best if the hotel does not offer a shuttle.

 

Do not have any knowledge of the hotel other than it is in a good location. About 3 blocks from the Quarter and 2 blocks to Harrah's.

We are planning to stay there too. It looks to be in a great location and from all the research I did on opinion sites - it consistently got the best reviews (even over some of the more $$$ higher *d hotels).

 

I am looking forward to our stay. We are coming in for Jazzfest two days before we sail in April 07.

It does look like a fun refurbished hotel. Did alot of research and finally picked this place. I am just finding out thought how expensive it is from airport to here and I wonder HOW much the taxi to wharf will be? Ever taken one to there? karen:D

I'm guessing a cab from there would be about $10, give or take a few. Too far to walk.

There is an airport shuttle looks to be @10 per person:

 

The Airport Shuttle to downtown area hotels operates every 15 minutes.

Fare: $10 each way

 

But if we can get a flat fare with a cab for $25, we'll likely take that.:cool:

 

The airport is @30 minutes from downtown so it isnt really that bad.

Actually I think the shuttle is a bit more expensive than that - $13-$15 as I recall. A cab is usually $20-$25 for the first 2 people from the airport to the downtown area. So if there are 2 or more it is more cost effective (if you count your time) to take a cab.

A cab ride to the CBD/FQ is $28 plus $1 fuel surcharge. Airport Shuttle is $13. Limo is $35 for two and $10 for each additional person.

 

The downtown flat for a cab ride from the CBD/FQ hotel to the pier was $14 as far as I remember (2 people) plus $1 fuel surcharge.

or e-mail United Cabs (http://www.unitedcabs.com/) they offer reserved cabs and may be able to quote you a price. They are a very reputable cab company. I think they are the only local cab company with a web site.
