Dear Tony,

only today I read yr "live From G.P." . I was onboard MSC MUSICA last thursday in Naples (we also saw Voyager and Mercury) at 6 pm we were waiting the departure of the Golden Princess's to dock at its place. We saw the Golden leaving Naples (we were entering in port and GP was at our left) and now I discover that someone onboard wrote here ! Eh , internet miracles ! I'm alberto from Torino,Italy. We'll be on Golden Princess on 6 january 07 cruise from N.ORLEANS TO RIO DE jANEIRO in a mini suite.I would like i to know if the Maitre D' and Chief Purser m Captain that are now on board will also be on that cruise and also if new bedding has been placed in GP mini suites. Is GP in need of renovations or not ?). Thank You very much for your attn. and we wish you a wonderful continuation of yr cruise.Alberto

There was something else I wanted to add, I believe Captain Calabrese will be returning to the ship by then as this is normally his ship and Crash Nash is his relief.

Also the ship is showing some normal wear and tear but is going into drydock on Nov 22nd so it will be interesting to see what people report back on these boards on the Nov 29th Transatlantic run to New Orleans.

Arlene,Do you think you can get it up to the mid 80's or higher? We'll be coming your way ( well, close anyways....Port Canaveral ) in less than 2 weeks time for a cruise to the Bahamas.

Mary

Sorry Mary. No way weather is going near 90 now. Actually, should never say never. :) You will probably find it mid 70's to lo 80's, with Bahamas being 3-4 degrees warmer than Miami. Has to be better than where you are. Much better!

Good Morning from Athens....

We just arrived into the port of Piraeus approx. 1 hour ago and they have just cleared the ship for all pax's to go ashore.

The sea condiitons last night were very smooth and I didn't feel a thing when I went to bed. This morning after breakfast I will be having a La Therapie Facial + Glycolic Peel treatment which is a fabulous treatment and I would recommend it to anyone. The whole treatment from start to finish lasts approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes. You pratically feel like a bowl of jello after you leave.

Going to be going to breakfast shortly and thereafter the treatment and will be heading out after 9:30am this morning. The plan has changed and the "gang" would like to go shopping into Athens and have some Indian Curry for lunch...I'm easy!

We set sail at 5:45pm tonight and the sunset should be pretty nice to view from Athens at 4:45pm in case anyone would like to view it from the Cruise Cam.

As David said we are the only major crusieline here in Athens today.

More to follow later today from the Golden Princess in Athens, Greece.

I forgot to mention the weather forecast for Athens today is a high of 68F and partly cloudy/sunny skies. Overall should be a ncie day with light westerly winds.

We also set sail at 5:45pm for Kusadasi, Turkey where the weather will be a hot 54F and sunny!

Also forgot to mention that I got a letter last night explaining they needed access to my cabin today as they are compelting some additional work on the balconies. The new patio furniture has been installed on all balconies and the sprinkler system as well so I am wondering what other work needs to be completed?

Alright, going for breakfast now.

More to follow later today from the Golden Princess in Athens, Greece.

P.S. I lost my German MTV as of last night...no more because we are out of range.

Just came back from the Lotus Spa and had an amazing facial with Karin South Africa...excellent treatment.

As I walking down to the Internet Cafe I ran into our new PSD (Passenger Services Director) Jaccomo Manfredde. He's a very nice man and remembers my Mother and I from being onboard the Golden Princess last summer for a month in the British Isles and Western Europe.

We currently have a refuelling tanker alongside us as we must take on more fuel to make the run to Egypt and back to Civitavecchia.

I will be going ashore shortly as it is starting to warm up here in Athens.

More to follow later today from the Golden Princess in Athens, Greece.

I forgot to also mention that this cruise to Egypt is a Connaisseur Cruise for Art Lovers (Stacey you hear this). There are 3 artist that are actually onboard exhibiting there paintings and also giving lectures.

There seems to be a lot of interest around these 3 artist and two of them are playing in the Casino sometimes with me.

More to follow later today from Athens, Greece.

David the other ship alongside us is the "Sea Diamond" and there are two other smaller cruise ships alongside us as well as some ferries...a very busy port this morning as the Sea Dimaond is performing Embarkation.

The weather is finally warming up outside and can go out without a jacket.

I am heading into the Marina area on the other side of our berth and are some wonderfull shops and restaurants.

More to follow later today from the Golden Princess in Athens, Greece.

Yes typically Italians are always well placed on most Princess ships.

If I get anymore info on the DryDock I will post it on here.
