jlsdunn Posted July 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2004 Has anyone cruised the Eastern Caribbean in November? St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan, Tortola area? I know Hurrican season lasts until Nov. 30. Wondering what to expect. Jen
barbados Posted July 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2004 Please don't allow the following link to disuade you in the slightest. (It's actually right here on CC). We've sailed the Carribean many times in October and November with nary a problem. Wonderful weather. Things seem to be difficult in October many times and smooth-out in November. You may still experience "North-swells" which limit visibility underwater during the late fall and winter months, but your chance of a smooth ride is good to very good. Best wishes for a wonderful trip! Find the link HERE.
JanetMarie Posted August 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2004 We, too, have sailed the Caribbean in Oct/Nov. For that matter, we were in Hurricane Andrew. The waves were a big higher, the ship rolled a tad bit more, and we missed a port. Other than that, and the gloomy weather for one day, it was not bad. The stabilizers on today's newer ships are built, I am told, for all situations. Enjoy your cruise! ;)
