sportsterjohn Posted July 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2004 I did the dunebuggy / snorkle tour. I had a total blast. One thing to keep in mind though. On this tour you spend the majority of your time driving the dunebuggy through the woods / sand. You only spend about 45 min in the water.
nightingail Posted July 17, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted July 17, 2004 Thanks for the info......was hoping to have a little time at the beach. Was that snorkling about 45 minutes in length?.......Nightingail.
sportsterjohn Posted July 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2004 yeah, they take you to a beach on the far side of the island. The main swimming area is just sandy bottom like a typical beach. There is a large reef which actually pokes out of the water about 100 yards out. Most people don't go out that far but a few of the stronger swimmers go out to it. We were out at the reef for about 45min-1hr. They then server a good tasking chicken lunch at the beach before the drive back.
eyern Posted July 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2004 We went on the party boat a couple of years ago because everybody raved about it, but we didn't really care for it. Don't know why, just didn't seem that great and not enough time at the beach either.
nightingail Posted July 19, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted July 19, 2004 Do you have any other suggestions of what to do? We were thinking about a Carnival excursion. I am a little hesitant on going off on my own. Thanks for your opinions........Nightingail.
sportsterjohn Posted July 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2004 at some ports I tend to use the cruise line sponsored excrusions but in Cozumel, there is no need to pay the extra money for the ship excursions. There are so many things to do in coz and the entire economy is tourism based and coz is a safe place. The other time I was in coz, I went diving which was fantastic.
