San Diego Terminal car rental

When we come back from our cruise, we have until 11pm to play in San Diego. My husband does not want to check his luggage & electronics early at the airport, so we are going to rent a car. Can we rent a car at the cruise terminal, or will we need to go to the airport to rent?

The car rental facilities in San Diego are off airport and just so happen to be located between the airport and the cruise terminal. A person could take a very short cab ride- maybe 1 mile to the rental facility of choice and rent a car.

You may want to check to see if any of the rental car companies will shuttle you from the cruise ship terminal to their facilities. It is very close to virtually all of them.

Thanks for the info. I will see if they will shuttle us to the rental center. If not, then a cab can't be much.
