Vancouver Restaurant Recommendations

Need your recommendations, please, based upon your first-hand experience with restaurants in Vancouver.

 

We’ll be staying at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver, pre-cruise, for a few days. This will be our first visit to Vancouver. Looking for recommendations you may have as it regards breakfast & especially dinner (we'll catch lunch on the fly as we're exploring the area).

 

Our main criteria would be:

*Nothing overly fancy or gourmet. A good "solid" restaurant with a nice varied menu, and a nice atmosphere.

*And please keep your recommendations within walking distance of the hotel.

Dinner in Vancouver -- hands down...it's the Water Street Cafe. It was fabulous, and prices were fairly reasonable. It's next to the old Steam Clock. Sorry i do not know how close it is to your hotel, but its worth walking to1

Joe Fortes - excellent! Just two blocks from the Sutton (we stayed here, too, last month). Don't miss having a drink in their lounge!

The restaurant IN the Sutton Place hotel is good too. Once at breakfast there, we saw Louis Gosset Jr. having bfast too.

I've eaten at West, Bishop's, and Feenie's, and all were outstanding.
