bchbum641 Posted October 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2006 I am about to book a cruise on the Spirit and am thinking about getting an obstructed oceanview w/ a french door. Has anyone seen these or stayed in one? I was thinking the rooms in between the life boats would probobly give the better view. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks--
virginiab Posted October 31, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Yes, the rooms between lifeboats will give you a tiny bit of view. The others just give you air, some light, and the side of a lifeboat to look at. But it's standard oceanview size, so that's a plus!
serene56 Posted October 31, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Becareful because not all 5A's are created equal. ; Staterooms 4202, 4203, 4205 and 4207 do not have French Doors, but have partially obstructed picture windows.
LHP Posted October 31, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2006 We had a room on the Pride that had the two lifeboats and you could see ocean between the two. But some rooms have lifeboats completely blocking the view. Our cabin was 4194 and it looked like this: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1344241901070127580KmeWOQ A completely blocked view looks like this: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1344241998070127580MXbIkM
wavecruiser Posted October 31, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 31, 2006 I was in the Pride (sister ship) 4115 cabin, which is between the lifeboats. Check out my pictures in my signature (Pride #1 album). I had plenty of sunlight...and fresh air, just had to stick my head out.
bchbum641 Posted October 31, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Thank you sooo much. The pictures were great. That was just what I needed to see to make my decision. Fresh air will be great!!
LHP Posted November 1, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2006 When I can't get hubby to spring for a balcony...the right 5A like we had on the Pride is perfect. I don't know if I would like the one completely blocked though. It is amazing what just a little bit of a view will add!!

cruisinbuddy Posted November 1, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Don't you just love these boards? You ask a question, and not only do you get an answer, you get pics too. These people are great, aren't they.:)
