Rare chrismch Posted November 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2006 Read on these boards that this is where you go to watch the cliff divers and the viewing rate includes drinks? Is it safe to have a drink with ice - is the water filtered? Any problems with eating there?:p
RonVal Posted November 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2006 Drinks with ice should be just fine at most places frequented by tourists. (The cubes are made from purified water.) But if you're after a cold gulp of water, stick with bottled products. As for La Perla ... Quite honestly - we've not tried it ... but have heard/read many comments about the place. At best, the food is mediocre & edible (but way overpriced). If you're looking for some "good" food nearby, check out a few of the local spots just downhill from La Quebrada (west of el zocalo) ... Tamales Licha, Mariscos Pipas, Mariscos Nachos, Amigo Miguel's (two locations across from each other) ... or try the 100% Natural or the little German restaurant (Die Bratwurst) - a couple of blocks west of el zocalo (but not open too late - homemade food - get there around 6ish). For the divers show ... just walk down the steps - get your tickets at the little booth on the right - and walk immediately to your right. There's a great little viewing platform there ... for perfect videotaping and/or photos. That's what we did. Happy Travels! RonVal
