Subcontracted driver from Herod?

Anyone with experience with Herod--would you be concerned if Herod himself were not available for a tour but offered a subcontracted driver in his place?

 

How much confidence would you have that Herod would choose a driver as good as himself to conduct your tour?

 

A couple of other board recommended tour guides on some other ports have also offered the same. I'm just checking to make sure before we book with the subcontracted drivers.
