Fantasy 5 day Halloween review from Nola

Our Fantasy Cruise For Halloween Out Of Nola Was Perfect, We Loved Every Second Of It. (when I Refer To We That Will Be Myself About 36ish In Age My Beautifull Wife And Son Of 16).

Imbarkation Was A Breeze We Arived At About 11:30 To The Terminal And Was On The Ship With Froo Froo Drinks In Hand For About 12:15. Parking I Think Was 12 Bucks A Day In A Parking Garage With Your Vehicle Out Of The Weather And Safe.

Im Not Going To Get Into A Very Detailed Review But If Theres Anything You Would Like To Ask Please Do I Will Try And Ansewer.

First Day On The Ship We Met Up With A Few Other Couples That We Talked With Here On Our Rollcall Got To Meet And Mingle Awhile And We All Went Our Own Way After We Watched The City Of New Orleans Drift Away In The Sunset.

That Night We Ate At Windows By The Sea (and Most Other Nights) Then Continued Knocking Down The Froo Froo Drinks.

Later We Hit The Casino And In No More Than 30 Mins I Hit A $644 Jackpot On A Quarter Slot Machine. (what A Great Start).

We Didn’t Do Any Shows That Night, To Many Froo Froo’s.

Durring The Sea Days We Pretty Much Just Hang By The Pool And Enjoyed The Music And Atmosphere Of Being On A Cruise.

Oh, By The Way That First Sea Day Was Formal Night Where I Ate 4 Lobster Tails And The Waiter Never Blinked Twice, Glad To Keep Them Coming.

Next Day We Were In Costa Maya And Loved It Also, Learned From Here On The Boards To Get Out Of The Shopping Area And Headed To The Fishing Village Of Mahaual. We Liked It, That’s Were We Went To The Cats Meow Had A Great Lunch And Good Drinks. I Did Hear People Complaining About Costa Maya Back On The Ship But The Stayed Locked In The Shopping Area At The Peir. (should Have Done Their Homework On These Boards). On The Way Back To The Ship We Stopped At The Store Bought A Bottal Of Rum And Two Six Packs Of Sole Beer And Walked Right On The Ship With Them With Out Checking Any Of It. Needless To Say, The Drinks Were Flowing Again, The Rum Goes Good With The Fruit Punch On The Ship.

Well We Have The Buzz Going Again And I Talked The Dw Into Another Stop At The Casino And Lady Luck Was Running With Me, I Went In With A 20 And Hit 507 On A Dollar Machine.

Bailed Outta There With My Cash And Partied A While Longer Before Passing Out.

Now We Are In Cozumel, Weather Was Kinda Crappy. Had A Little Rain Off And On But Not A Complete Washout. We Didn’t Do Any Shore Tours Because This Was Our Fith Time There. We Kinda Just Did A Little Shopping And Had Luch At Ponchoes Backyard, And That Was Great. (learned About Them From Here On The Boards Also).

I Forgot To Talk About Halloween Night, It Was A Blast. Lots Of People Dressed Up And It Was A Huge Party (for Those Who Dressed Up And Participated Anyway). Again If It Wasn’t For These Boards We Would Not Have Brought Costumes And Would Have Been Left Out.

So With All The Times I Said Because Of These Boards I Would Like To Thank Cruise Critic And All The Members That Post Reveiws And Comments For Others To Learn From.

Thank You All.

Im Posting A Link For Some Pics Check Them Out And Enjoy.

I Will Get The Capers Up Tomorrow.

Ps. No Bashing On Me For Spelling Because Again I Have A Drink In Hand To Help With Post Cruise Deprssion.

Wow that looked like a scary good time onboard the Fantasy.

I have 2 questions how is the parking at the port I have a F250 crew cab truck will it be a problem parking it. And does the ship seem to roll more than most cruise ships.

Again thanks

Paul

Hi Paul , Parking your truck I dont think would be the problem, but you may have trouble makeing the first spiraling turns to get into the garage on the first ramp. I found they were very tight. But the height from floor to ceiling i dont think would be a problem.

2nd Does the ship seem to roll more than others ?

I really dont think so. Friday on the way home comein back across the Gulf it was pretty rough. White caps as far as you can see and most outside side doors on the ship were locked due to high winds. Now to ansewer your question,,, I would so no. She was rockin and rollin but it wasnt bad. I was on the Glory last year ( Conquest class) and I found that ship rocked the same if not more.

We have a ford F-150 extended cap (who in ms doesn't lol ) and we had no problem whatsover with parking deck except to pick our white truck out from the many there lol. Just be sure to remember where you park hehe.

Glad you had a great time! We were on the 4 day cruise of fantasy just before your cruise and loved every minute of it. My friend was on your cruise. Last I heard my friend is still sleeping so haven't heard her review hehe.

Great Review and loved your photos. I have a couple of additional quesitons. Thanks in advance.

  1. How did you get to Majahual? Walk, taxi, golf cart??
  2. Where is Pancho's Backyard in relation to the pier?

We went to Majahual in a bus, there were no taxi's outside the shopping area. I guess they have a deal going or something with the people that operate the buses. It was $3.00 a person, the buses were the big tour type, airconditioned and clean and the driver speaks about the fishing village that you are going to. We loved it and would go back any time. In Majahual the locales have there little tents and shacks set up on the beach. There will be lots of haggling from them, but there harmless, they are just trying to make a buck. Great deals to be made there, dont ever,,,, not ever pay the first price they give you for a item. I had ask for a price on one item and he said 50 bucks,I said no way and started walking as I was walking away he was shouting 40 --- 30---20--- and all the way down to 10.Im not trying to steel from them but at the same time Im not letting them steel from me.

Anyway,,, to get back to the peir the taxi's are all over the place, again 3 bucks a person and they bring you right back to the cruise shopping area, were the prices are double and triple for the same locale items from the village.

Panchoes from the peir in Cozumel was about a 8 min ride to the left in a taxi for 5 bucks. We did walk there at first while we were shopping, then walked all the way back to the peir to get my son back onboard.( He had enough shopping) He loves the ship life more than any island we have been to, he's just a happy cruiser.

We got him back onboard the caught a taxi to Panchoes and back. 10 dollers for the both of us round trip.

Thanks for the review Flygrass! I'm not sure if you remember but I met you on the first day of the cruise near the aft pool with Dave. I was the one traveling with 150 people. I saw you on and off throughout the week as well.

I had a great time as well. In Costa Maya, we went to Tequila Beach. It cost $15.00 per person and included roundtrip transportation (about 5-10 minutes) and free drinks and snack throughout the day. I didn't like the beach very well but we still had a great time and was worth the money. We stayed there most of the day and then went shopping at the "mini mall" at the end of the pier on the way back to the ship.

In Cozumel, we took a taxi to Paradise Beach. That was a BEAUTIFUL beach! We only stayed for the morning though because it started to rain. We then headed back into town and ate at Senior Frogs and shopped right there near the pier.

I've been on 6 different cruises and I had just as much fun on this one as I did the others. The food was good and I was NEVER hungry. The last day at sea was alot of fun. The ship was pretty rocky but it was sunny and warm. It was a great day just to relax.

I just have to mention that there is a bartender on the ship that was the BEST!!!! His name is Larry San Diego and he was simply amazing. I think he had half the ships guests first and last names memorized. He is going home in 3 weeks but if you're on the ship before he leaves, you'll love him. He works in the Century 21 bar.

Anyway, I had a great time too and can't wait to cruise again!
