Is this a good place if you just want to hang on the beach?? What are the best beaches for just kicking back with a beer and letting the kids platy in the water?? I understand if we tender into Belize City - nothing is within walking distance - so you can go water taxi to Caulker. Is it worth it?? Thanks - any input welcome!! We sail in 2 weeks *yippee****

We will be there the 29th, so I did a Google and came up with www.gocayecaulker.com. It looks good.

Read my last two reviews. Our group did Caye Caulker on our own both times. It's very doable and if you have any questions after that just fire away.

I don't reconmend it for beaches at all. Most of the island is surrounded by seagrass so it's not what you would call a sandy entry type of beach. When we swim there it's off of boats, docks, or the concrete slab at the split. We love it but it's not for everyone.

Bannister Caye ROCKS!! Beautiful private island!! Beautiful sandy beach, the most shells I've seen on a beach in my ENTIRE life!! Tons of chairs in the sun or shade, bar, grille, shops, clean bathrooms and a few activities. Soooo much fun and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing day on a gorgeous beach!!

Pics on my blog soon....just started this trip report....
