Does anyone know what these coupon books have available in them?

And how to get one if I have already booked my cabin (9A) and they did not offer me one through Carnival?

I am not sure who normally gets them but I just received docs for 4 cabins and we had one booklet per cabin. We did book through a travel agent and when I called to check on the docs originally I was told they were waiting for the coupon books to put in them.

 Pardon my ignorance....but I am sooo confused? ONe of the couppons offers a "Grande Coffee for the price of a Tall Coffee" I thought coffee was free on Carnival??? OR...are they talking about things like Cafe Latta etc? I also read somewhere that you can get a cappacino after dinner in the dining room and it was also not at an extra charge? Is this correct?

I like the book but am not sure if it is worth $19.99 on E-Bay. Do only certain people get this book free from Carnival?

It is referring to the specialty coffee bar... which isn't free.

As for $19.95... the book isn't worth $1 in my opinion... whoever is charging 19.95 needs to be thrown in jail :p TA's sometimes offer these as an "incentive"... they are 95% worthless as far as I'm concerned :D

Almost all of it requires you to buy something to get something so unless you have plans to buy those items anyway, it's not worth the cost. Carnival makes money on these and that's why they sell them.

I agree, I only saw a couple in the whole book that I might even consider using. My book has a $5 casino free play coupon in it also that I will probably use.

I agree w/ the earlier postings that the online purchase price of these is quite ridiculous. I've seen that myself as well, and I also noticed that the online auction wording mostly mentioned the "free" part of the coupon, and failed to mention the "buy one get one.." that should have been stated as well.

For me, there was little perceived value of the two issued to me by my TA prior to a recent voyage, since I was traveling alone. But I put them with my travel documents, just in case. On a whim I went to watch the slot tournament in the casino. I'd put one booklet in my pocket w/ intention of getting a specialty coffee later. Figured why not give the tourney coupon to someone at the casino so they could save some bucks. The couple was very surprised and appreciative. It was great to see them both make it to the final round. One eventually won the whole thing. Several times during the week, when we crossed paths they bought me a drink. Guess the coupon DID have a value after all.

I offered the five-for-four wine coupon to a passenger at the next dining table since I'm not much of a wine drinker. Again, this created a chat situation with others throughout the voyage. But my glory use of one coupon for ME was the dinky free $5 casino token that you could only bet as even money. Put it on roulette 'red' and won another $5. Put that $10 on number 11, knowing that there was really no chance to win, but the effort wouldn't have cost me a cent. Yep, it landed on #11. I'm not a gambler (not even w/ guaranteed cabins) so I cashed and booked it out of there fast. ~~By the way... never did get that coffee, so will use it next time, and continue giving the others away to fellow passengers.

So I guess the coupon book paid off for Don..$350.00 on roulette and a free

drink...some guys have all the luck...some guys have all the pain..some guys do nothing but complain. Gosh two beers and I start to sing...:D

I saw the coupon used and explained (by the dealer) this way: Look at that coupon as a chance to win $5 not a free $5.

I saw someone use one of the free $5 play coupons on the Pride in March. They give you a $5 special chip that you play. So say you go the the Roulette wheel (which is where I was when the pax came up with their chip they got from the cage) and you play RED and win. they take the chip and replace it with a $5 real chip that you can do as you wish with so you are not up $10 (original chip plus winings). If you lose, well you lost nothing.

Needless to say the person that used it was not happy that they did not double the money but just got a new chip in return that they took to the cage and got five bucks in cash with.

We got the booklet too. It was an incentive offered for booking by a certain date. It's definately not worth much. I like the idea of giving some of the coupons away...we'll probably only use the casino one. Hmmm.....selling it on ebay for $19, now that might be the thing to do ;) I mean the "Carnival Towel Creations book free with the purchase of a bathrobe" now that's worth a lot!! LOL
