Transportation to port from airport

Hi,

 

What is the best way to get to the port of Miami from the Miami airport if there are 3 of us travelling. Should I buy transfers $14 one way $28 round trip each or are there other more cost effective ways of doing this.

Reliable shuttle service suggestions or take a cab from the airport?

 

I am on Valor Dec 24th sailing and the return is the 31st. I am sure the airports will be crowded.

Define "best", is that the cheapest, most convenient, most comfortable?

 

Cheapest is at the center of the terminal, lower level you can catch the bus, it is $1.50 per person, runs pretty frequently, little bit of walking.

 

Most convenient is a cab, it will run about $30 one way for the three of you.

 

Most comfortable is private limo car, about $85 each way not including tip.

 

I would add that the Carnival shuttle is not even in the running for any of those categories!

In oct. we did the cab thing $23 and was at the airport in about 25 minutes. Stay away from the Carnival transpo!

Take a cab. They are plentiful, cheap fast and efficient. The Carnival transfer in Miami is a mistake we only made once.....on our first cruise.

Cabs are plentiful but you wait in a queue. Even if the queue is long it is much easier to get in a cab than the far less organized lines for the Carnival busses.

Hi Rick (or anyone with information on this topic) , do you recommend taking the bus in Miami? And is there direct bus From MIA to port or do you have many transfers on the way? ... Walking is not a problem, but wondering if it is safe!
