Fantastic Staff on the Dawn

We were on our 4th voyage on the Dawn recently and loved it even more than we thought we could. The staff is amazing. The hotel director Jacques Trellac and the Food and Beverage Manager JP Seidel were absolutely the best.

We have been on other lines but this is our favorite. What sets NCL apart from the others is the Staff and Crew.

If anyone is on the fence thinking whether to try NCL, I would tell them that they will not be sorry.

Welcome back, Joanne! It's nice to hear such positive comments about your cruise on the Dawn. We leave on her this Sunday, so anything you'd like to pass onto us would be appreciated.

How did you like the new menus? Did you go to any of the specialty restaurants? Please fill us in on the things you did.

Thanks for your time.

Janet

We were on the 10/22 Dawn voyage. We loved the ship so that is why we chose to sail her again. The new menus started the day before we left so I really don't have that information. I can say that the Lamb was wonderful from the new menu.

Make sure you go to the shows, Bollywood is the best!!

Also, the casino is one of the best on the seas. They serve snacks around 11pm which is nice.

This time we didn't go to Cagneys because we were with a large group and not everyone wanted to go, but if you want the best ribeye you must go. They have a half-price special between 5-6pm.

Also, feel free to order a few different appetizers and entrees, they are always accomodating.

Our itinerary was not the best,Florida and Bahamas, but we love the Dawn so much that it really didn't matter.

If you have any special questions you can e-mail me and I will try to answer them.

I am so jealous I wish I was going with you.

Janet,

I see that you work in retail, so do I. That is why I took this vacation before the seasonal period. I knew I would need it!!!

You should really try go to Atlantis in the evening. A cab is 4 dollars each and the Dig is free after 7pm. That was really something. I didn't think I would like it but I really did. It is beautiful. On the way out I stopped by the casino and won 200 dollars, so it definitely worth the trip.

The private island is one of my favorites. It's a great time to relax and enjoy the beautiful water. Bring your own snorkel gear if you have it. They also have a bbq on the island. I know you will have a great time there.

As far as shopping goes, Nassau and Freeport really don't have the same deals as St Martin and St Thomas.

Joanne, I didn't see your last post & just sent you an email!! Sorry about that - it's late & I'm getting sleepy I guess.

A few of us are already planning to visit Atlantis at night & check out The Dig. We've heard good things about it. The same about GSC - I look forward to our day on the private island. I hope the weather is nice enough to just enjoy a beach day.

Yes, retail is tough at this time of year. I had to get special permission to get this time off. Of course, I had already booked the cruise when the boss announced no time off in November or December!! But since I already had the tickets, they couldn't say "no" to me, not really. I'll even be missing the big holiday meeting - it's Sunday morning, the day we sail. And where do you work in retail??

Thanks for all your info.

Thanks for the report on the Dawn, Joanne.

My wife, kids (age 12 and 9), and I will be on the Dawn in August 2007 and are really looking forward to it.

We have taken the kids on the Majesty twice and the Spirit once :) ! NCL Freestyle works great for our family:D

It is always great to hear about the staff on the Dawn. 5 cruises on her and we have always been in awe of the service we received. I know the crew moves from one new ship to another and will miss old familiar faces, but look forward to getting to know the new members on our December 7th cruise.

Couldn't agree with you more Joanne, the staff on the Dawn is great. And I really loved Jimmy the cruise director. I thought he was hilarious and the best thing about him was that when we ran into him on the elevator, he talked to us like we have been friends for years!

Joanne, I work for Barnes & Noble in the Children's Department. We've been getting Christmas merchandise in since August. I just couldn't wait for Halloween to be over so we could start putting the stuff out on the floor!! So I can certainly sympathize with you working at Costco - November & December are tough months to get a day off.

I'm going to email you with a couple more questions if you don't mind. I did more shopping today - pretty soon I'm going to have to start the actual packing. I'm so thankful to have today off to get this stuff done. Can't wait to get onboard & meet the wonderful staff whose praises you've been singing! I've always felt that most staff members do a terrific job considering how hard they work.

Thanks again.

Janet

Eileen,

Remember me? We were on the wave cruise together. How are you and your family?
