Santiago area - culinary ideas

We are planning our pre-cruise time and are trying to find information on local plantations in or near Santiago that accept visitors. Olive plantation and winery suggestions would be particularly wonderful, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hello New Yorkers

I would suggest you check out the website of Liz Caskey at lizcaskey dot com for ideas on wineries, culinary adventures etc. She is an ex-pat American now living in Santiago and is a chef, sommelier and tour organizer as well. She has a wine blog called "Eat wine" or something similar and this has lots of information. We actually took one of her culinary tours of Santiago and were very impressed.

There are several wineries on the outskirts of the city as well as many within an easy drive...so much to choose from!
