This is an off the wall question, but do you remember the pricing on the tortuga rum cakes? We're planning to bring them back for Xmas gifts, and since I'm lazy, were wondering if I should order them online if they're the same price, and have them here when we return. What do you think?

Prices online from Tortuga Rum Cake is US$32.50 for the large 33oz rum cake. This price includes standard shipping.

 

I have regularly seen them for about US$25 on the island, though that is at the major groceries. I'm not sure what they price is at the factory, but probably similar.

 

You can take back all of the rum cakes you wish duty free. Of course if you really stock up you should plan for this. You might end up paying fees for surplus baggage to the airlines for your trip home.

I double checked a couple stores. The large Tortuga Rum Cakes were selling for CI$19.50 (US$24.38) at Foster's grocery. A couple of gift shops around town had them priced at CI$20 (US$25).
