wynkys Posted November 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2006 Does anyone know, as a general rule, on extended cruises other than the World Cruise, what percentage of passengers would be on for the entire trip rather than some segments? I am particularly interested in the Mariner Circle Pacific and am also wondering on how many of the segments, if any, would the ship be close to capacity? Gail C Posted November 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2006 That may be a question to take up directly with Regent. If you have a travel agent, perhaps he/she could get this information for you.
Suite Travels Posted November 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2006 We heard today that the world cruise has about 450 guests booked. I don't think those segments will be booked to capacity.
xrvlcruiser Posted November 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2006 We've heard that the World Cruise has something more than 400 FULL CRUISE passengers. There are segment passengers as well. Since there are a number of single passengers, the capacity of the Voyager for this trip is closer to 600 that 700. Just my opinion.
dougburns Posted November 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2006 We're on the first segment and it's full. At last check you could not book a single segment and had to book at least 3 segments in order to get a stateroom. Having said that, I got a flyer from rssc that advertized the final segment as available. There are a very large number of prior full world cruisers on this 2007 cruise. sundial Posted November 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2006 We were on the Tokyo to Hong Kong segment of the current Mariner Grand Pacific circle cruise and we were told that there were only about 45 people who were completing the entire circle. The ship was almost full on our segment, but only half full on the previous segment sailing across from Alaska so I think it varies a lot depending upon the itinerary. I have heard that the World Cruise gets many more full cruise passengers.
M Coop Posted November 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2006 I know last years world cruise only had 270 full world cruisers, and if i correctly remember, the total number never really exceeded 500-600 people total per segment.
dfb Posted November 21, 2006 #8 Share Posted November 21, 2006 Wayne, There is a woman named Jan onboard the full Mariner Grand Asia Pacific right now. She reported on another board that there were 41 people onboard for the full cruise this year. She is posting a blog of her experiences, if you are interested: http://journals.aol.com/grothj/grand-asia-pacific-2006/ Debbie
Gail C Posted November 21, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2006 Debbie, I can't find the beginning of Jan's blog. I'd like to know her opinion of the Mariner upon embarking. Also, would you mind posting the other board's address? Thanks, Gail
wynkys Posted November 22, 2006 Author #10 Share Posted November 22, 2006 Thank you Sundial and Debbie for your responses as you have provided exactly the types of answers I was looking for. It is of particular interest that so few are doing the full cruise. Wayne
