VIP checkin?

Instead of getting into the regular line just tell, and show, that you have the VIP checkin and someone will take you to a seperate waiting room for everyone in suites to arrive. Then, before everyone else gets on the ship, you will be escorted pass the entire line straight onto the ship. Be sure to bring your camera with you on your carry on to the ship so you can take pictures of you and the family at different places around the ship before anyone gets on. Have a great cruise! :)

Since you are going out of New Orleans, after you unload your luggage (and park the car if needed) just ask for VIP Check In. The Carnival rep will direct you. Every port is different. (some better than others) But basically you are the first ones on the ship *if there aren't any wedding parties.

At most ports, you sit in a special little area away from the other huddled masses (LOL). Tampa was very nice. We took an elevator up to the second floor (instead of riding an escalator). We talked over to a desk with 2 chairs where we could be seated for our check in. (There were other chairs in case someone was at the desk while you waited to check in....hence no standing in line.) After we were checked in, they personally escorted us to the VIP waiting area where we were the first folks to get our photos on the card, walked through security and embarkation picture done...before walking onto the ship. (There were not any wedding parties that day.)

We will be enjoying VIP Check In in December (Platinum members) and look forward to a little extra TLC!!

Some people just like to show off that they can type faster than me!! ;)

Good point about taking pictures....especially since you can't go to your cabin until 1:30pm!!

Alright, well thanks I understand, we have gotten our tickets and they do indicate that we have a suite, but it says nothing about VIP check in.

If you are in a CAT #11 or 12 suite your Sail & Sign card and cabin keys will be waiting for you in the VIP Lounge. Please DO NOT stand in that long line. Platinium Cards holders in any cabin will also check-in in the VIP Lounge. I look forward to serving you.

FirstTimer, look on the front of your documents folder (when it's folded closed with everything in it in the right place) there is a window on the envelope on the front right side where it tells you what time to embark and what terminal. ......under that, you will probably see: "Proceed to Carnival's VIP Check-In upon your arrival". If it doesn't have it and you do have a cat. 11 or 12 suite, you are for sure allowed the VIP check-in process anyway.

We got upgraded to a Cat. 11 on the Miracle just three weeks before our cruise so we were a little in the dark about how the VIP process worked. There was a sign for Vacation Club, SeaMiles etc. members but none for suite passengers. I found out that it was where we should have gone, but the nice lady who checked us in in the regular line caught it and escorted us to the VIP waiting area. :)

How many Carnival cruises does it take to reach Platinum status? We are currently Gold status and will be sailing on the Fantasy on 12/02/06. Wanting to book our next cruise already!!!
