jaz33 Posted November 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2006 Hi everyone We will be in St Lucia on 12/12/2006. We have decided that the day will be spent "doing our own thing" and spending the day on and around the ship (Constellation). Could anyone let me know what (if anything) there is around the port area, or within a 15 min walk from the ship. Thanks for your help. Nana G Posted November 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2006 St. Lucia has alot of great shops right at the dock. A whole complex built and beautiful right there. We took a small ferry to somewhere in the city and didn't find much but a restaurant and a few shops but then again we didn't walk too far from where the ferry docked. traveling1969 Posted November 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2006 There are actually two cruise ship docks. I believe you dock nearer to town. We docked at the other one when we were there on the Sun Princess. There are newer shops at both docks. Near town they are in an enclosed air conditioned mini-mall right at the dock while at our dock they were in an open-air courtyard type mall with the individual shops being air conditioned. There are also a couple markets downtown selling local crafts and the usual souvenirs. One is an open-air cluster of covered stalls and the other is in a large warehouse-type building. There are also a few street vendors selling calabash crafts, woven baskets etc. Apparently the calabash containers are used by some locals for their stash of you-know-what as security at the boat looked ours over very thoroughly. We had about a 15 minute walk downtown from our dock but the other dock is right in town. Bon Voyage!
