snb3 Posted November 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2006 I have a sentitive throat & usually end up needing a humidifier when I travel to cold & dry areas during the weather. Anybody have any sore throat issues when cruising? Can anybody tell me if the room climate controls are effective? thanks
Buckland Posted November 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2006 I was on the Amadagio which has sliding glass doors that open half the cabin up to the outside. If you are travelling in the winter you are going to run into dry air no matter what. We travelled in September and had the door open most of the time - it was wonderful! I live in Ottawa Canada where the air in the winter is dryer than a popcorn fart so I really appreciated the ability to get some really fresh air. Fleuve51 Posted November 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2006 We also, always get a room with doors that open.It is worth the extra$$$$ to have fresh air. Never heard of a " popcorn fart"!! Is that an Ottawa thing? I wonder how the language police in Montreal would translate that!!!! Eileen
fuzzlekins Posted November 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2006 We had no trouble on our November Rhine cruise but then we encountered a fair amount of fog at night and early morning, so dryness wasn't an issue. We found the individual climate control in our cabin to be very effective. If you can get by without running the heat a lot, that will cut down on the dryness a lot. We had weather in the 40s but didn't need the heat on much.
