heathrow to Southampton port

I have booked a Med cruise on Cunard QM2 for September 10, 2007 with a singles travel club.

 

It will cost $80 one way for a transfer from Heathrow Airport to the port. Is there a cheaper way of getting there myself?

Basically, if you can handle your own luggage you can get to Southampton for much less. Both train and bus service run from the airport. I personally have used the bus (coach) service. It was cheap, ran every hour and dropped off in the center of town. No line changes and can be booked online.
