kyblueliz Posted July 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2004 Has anyone stayed in this particular cabin and if so, what are your thoughts? Any and all comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
kyblueliz Posted July 20, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted July 20, 2004 We now have heard that this cabin is listed as "obstructed view". Can someone explain what this might mean. As first time cruisers we didn't know enough to research the cabin before selecting it. Can we request a cabin change? Thanks.
Devoli Posted July 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Obstructed means that there will be a life boat, pole, cables or something outside the balcony so that you will not have a complete view. If you can change, I would if you anticipate using hte balcony a lot. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
DEL67 Posted July 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2004 We were in Cabin 9202. It and 9203 are not balconies. They are outside cabins with obstructed views. People can go out on the bow area outside these cabins so the obstruction is actually the deck wall. As a result, you have to keep your curtains closed for privacy much of the time. The upside was that 9202 is a handicap cabin, which we needed. I assume 9203 is also. As a result, the cabin is a little larger than most and the bathroom is a lot larger, with a roll-in shower. One caution. If I am correct that 9203 is also a handicapped cabin and you do not need one, it can be taken away from you if you reserve it and someone else needs it.
