Globaliser Posted November 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2006 Any body have done it before? I thougt it would be a nice experience while in town.It would certainly make your visit to Sydney more interesting to have seen some of the inside of the Opera House doing what it was intended to do. If the shows that are on grab your interest, definitely go for it!
mike35 Posted November 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2006 We arrive Sydney at the end of our HAL cruise on January 5, 2007. We just booked on line two excellent seats for The Marriage of Figaro on January 6. Total price including booking fee was $297 USD. Can't wait!! laminar Posted November 26, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 26, 2006 Since the Opera that we are going to see in Nov will be sung in English. We decided to take the third row. No subtitles visible from here since is very close to the stage. The price is a lot cheaper. 141.50 Australian dollars for two tickets.
mydream Posted November 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2006 You can also do tours of the Opera House. If you check out the Sydney Opera House website it is easy to find the info. The tour takes you to parts of the Opera House that the general public can't normally see. Hope you enjoy your time in Sydney.:)
mike35 Posted November 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2006 A tour of the opera house is definitely on our itinerary. We toured the famouse Buenos Aires opera house a few months ago, and it was incredible! I'm sure the one in Sydney will be equally wonderful. Globaliser Posted November 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 27, 2006 A tour of the opera house is definitely on our itinerary. If you have the time and inclination, and it doesn't seem outrageously expensive, try the backstage tour. You definitely get to see rather more and rather more interesting stuff than on the standard grockle trip around the public areas.
