rental car drop off at port everglades

We are renting a car in Sarasota and driving to Pt Everglades on Jan 4 2007 for a cruise on the Maasdam. Anyone know if there is a drop off there. Do we go to the Ft Lauderdale airport and drop off there? Can we get a lift the airport? In Tampa, rental car companies offer service to/ from airport to the port. How about Fort Lauderdale?:confused:

What car rental company? There is a budget outlet right across the street from the port on 17th. They have a shuttle from their outlet to the port. All other rental companies seem to be stationed at the airport. To the best of my knowledge you would have to cab it from the airport to the port. It's about a $10 -$12 cab ride.

When we were there in September there was a airport bus service that ran from the car rentals to the port and you can catch the same bus when you return and take it back to the airport. There was no charge, but we did tip the driver.

You catch it right outside the terminal. We rented from Hertz but there were people on the bus from all different rental companies. I would just call your company at the FL airport to make sure.
