bobk57 Posted November 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2006 We are cruising on the Oosterdam January 20th. Does anyone know if they have soda cards? Also any hidden or secret things they do not tell you about that that we should know about?
missygirl Posted November 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Yes they have them. We got ours before we boarded for around $21, looks like a credit card. It also comes with an insulated cup, you can carry it up to any bar and they fill it for you. In the dining room the wine steward would have our soda in a glass waiting on the table for us each night. Hope this helps Missygirl:)
Navy_Chief Posted November 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2006 You can pre-order soda cards for $18.75 which will give you 20 sodas. Here is the link: http://hollandamerica.com/pdfs/onboard/Gift_Order_Polar.pdf
Schplinky Posted November 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Are the sodas cans of soda or fountain pop?
Desdemona01 Posted November 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2006 the cards are for fountain sodas unless you are somewhere where it's not available--we have gotten cans of soda in the dining room, for example
kakalina Posted November 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Quick tip! If the fountain soda is flat, as it usually is, just mention it to the bartender and they will open a fresh can for you. You still only get the one glass but it tastes much better.

Or just a certain # of sodas?
Enchanted Posted November 28, 2006 #8 Share Posted November 28, 2006 Is that card good for the whole cruise? Or just a certain # of sodas? It's good for 20 soda's. I have seen a small few with the unlimited sticker on their room card but i believe you can only get those now if you book during a special promotion or receive them as a gift from your TA
Lahogrider Posted November 28, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 28, 2006 Thanks...We are traveling with 2 teenagers, I bet 20 sodas will go pretty quick.
whogo Posted November 28, 2006 #10 Share Posted November 28, 2006 The twenty soda price for our upcoming cruise seems to be $18.75 online or $20.70 from the gift guide included with our cruise documents. Both include a 15% tip. I can not explain the $1.95 difference. More confusion between the gift guide and the holiday gift guide; 6 chocolate dipped strawberries for $9 with the gift guide and online, only 5 with the holiday gift guide. Looks like shopping around can save a few cents, even when you are dealing with only one supplier.
