Car Rental Into/Out of Port of Miami

We are cruising out of Miami in March. Does Enterprise (or others) drive you back to the pier after returning a rental car?

 

How does it work when you return? Do they come and get you to their rental counter to rent a car after the cruise?

 

Any rental companies you prefer?

We just returned on the Jewel yesterday and found Alamo has a shuttle to and from the pier.

We made the mistake of renting with Dollar before our cruise and we had to pay for a taxi from the Miami airport to the pier.

On our return we rented from Alamo and the shuttle bus was waiting for us as we came off the ship.

The shuttle driver told me that Dollar, Avis, Thrifty and a few more lesser knowns I had not heard of do not come to the pier.

I was very happy with the Alamo service and will definitely use them again.

I did Alamo about a week ago, they have shuttles that run 2 per hour to the Pier. Works great.

Dollar had a shuttle running every half hour on November 5th, but there was such confusion at the pier we ended up spending $25 for a cab to the airport and then took the Dollar shuttle from there to their lot. Lots of wasted time and aggravation.
