Houston Liquor Stores

Recommended Posts

If you are staying in downtown Houston, your best bet is take a cab to Spec's downtown store. I guarantee they will have what you want. Spec's is not your run of the mill liquor store, they are the "super store of wine and liquor".

I think there is a liquor store between Harborside and Strand on 21st st. It is within walking distance of the cruise terminal.

Be aware that if you are sailing on a Sunday you will need to buy your liquor the night before. Also, watch the closing times on the liquor stores even on Saturday night. I don't know if it's the same in Houston, but I was in Dallas a few weeks ago and the liquor stores closed at 9pm.

Wine and beer is sold at most grocery stores, liquor at liquor stores only. If you decide to go to Spec's downtown, you will be surprised. I am not sure of the size of that store but 80,000sf should do it. They carry somewhere in the neighborhod of 10,000 brands of wine, any liquor or beer that you can think of and have a deli that is out of this world.
