Best transportation and hotel in Galveston from Hou Hobby

Sailing on the Grand on Feb 3rd; need transportation (coming in on Feb 2nd)and overnight accommodations that are user friendly to the pier.

 

Open to all suggestions that are tried and true.

Poster on "Galveston transportation" thread reports scheduling the Galveston Limo service from Hobby to Galveston for $30/pp each way. There have also been several previous threads on both transportation and lodging. Try going to http://www.galveston.com also.

The Harbor House and the Tremont are both walking distance to the pier. I'm not sure I'd enjoy hauling a lot of luggage from either though.
