Has anyone parked at the NY pier? Are there any orther parking lots close to the pier that are cheaper (They are charging $212 for a 11 day cruise).

Has anyone used a limo service from Philly? If yes which one and how much did they charge?

Those is bus distance, Do you prefer going on the bus?

If I park at the pier what is the latest I can get off the ship and how long do they serve breakfast?

Thanks

we are on the 1/27 trip. I think we are up to 35 so if you are sailing and have not joined the roll call please join us

To the best of my knowledge they are still charging $180.00 (monthly rate) for an 11 day cruise. This works out to just over $16.00 per day.

I think you would be hard pressed to find alternate parking in that area for less. Granted it is midtown Manhattan, but only about a mile away at the Marriott Marquis, they charge $50.00 per day. I looked in the past for a cheaper rate, but could not find one. Also remember, if you park further from the pier, then you deal with taxis, etc., and the hassle.

IMHO, for the rate and the convenience, parking at the pier is one of the better deals.

That $180 maximum, by the way, is the monthly rate. So if you stay in New York for a couple of more days you might want to consider leaving the car at the pier.

I would check with them specifically before doing this. In all that I have read, the parking area is only open on days when ships are in port. So if you try to park for a couple of extra days, you may be waiting for the next ship to arrive before you can get your car!

Just got off the Noordam today and had parked next door on the pier. Contrary to what the website says, they did take a credit card and it was $180. My husband had dropped me and the luggage off on the way in when we boarded days ago and the baggage man took the bags for us to the ship except what we carried on. Today when we got off the ship, the baggage man took the trolley for us from the baggage area right to the car. I heard one of the other guys call him rookie, so I am not sure they would all give such good service. They were very busy and we had to wait to get someone. We got off the ship at 10:05 and were through the Lincoln Tunnel about 10:30. Traffic coming into the city was backed up onto the NJTP. Our friends were taking a bus to Harrisburg and it was supposed to be there at noon. Coming to the ship days ago their bus driver got lost and also they didn't have room for everyone and had to send another bus or van. Somehow because the friends booked a balcony cabin, the bus was free, but I don't know if this is still true. It took 5 hours for them to get there. They invited us to join them but we declined. Today we made it back here to DC/MD before 3, stopped for lunch and gas. Don't know how long it took them to get home, haven't heard from them yet.

The Lido quit serving breakfast at 8:30 this morning. I am not sure how long you could linger but they were still calling people, we were not in the last group. We were allowed to sit in the cabin until they called us.

In repyl to your request, here are some options. We live outside of Phila and we are booked on the QM2 in April leaving Fll and repostioning to Brooklyn. first option: amtek 30th st station (phil) to grandcentral sta.(nyc) cost for two perple one way. $90 Time: 1 hr 20 min. You stated you live on the nj shore Maybe you could take the train from ac to phila. I don't know that cost. Grey hound is $21/person each way. Thats Phl to nyc We crossed this out ,since the train trip is faster. next option: Check with limo services for one way trip ac to nyc. Some times you can get a deal, because they are bringing people to the casinos and are looking for a return fare. lastly: check with Worldwide Shore Services at 1-800-355-3023. They do the travel arrangements for hal. We are using them on return 12/24 from our 12/17 Westerdam cruise. We are flying out of miami so we needed trans from ship to Mia. Cost:$16/person thats Port Everglades to Mia. travels. last resort: trusted friend for delivery and pick up. Make it easy on yourself,It's YOUR vac. time.:)

Have not heard of this.

If you get to the pricing section, they do show a daily rate of $22.00 for up to 10 hours for drop off and visitors. I believe that this would only be charged if one actually parked there. The way things are set up, the driver would take the ramp up to the second level, drop you off with your luggage, then they would have the option at the end of the ramp, to either go up one level to the parking area, or down one level to street level. Unless there is a special reason you have, I see no reason that one would have to park in order to see you off. Simply say you good-byes where you drop off the luggage, then the driver is free to leave the area.

I guess it is very much like pulling up to the airport terminal (if you can still do this). As long as you are just dropping someone off, there is no charge. I believe beyond that, if they charged for drop-offs, then each taxi would be charged this, and I don't see that happening.

I don't think there is any drop off charge, don't know who would have been collecting it. There is no booth when you enter. After my husband dropped me off and went to park, the attendant thought he was there for a show that was going on somewhere on the pier and sent him to the wrong place. When he explained that he wanted to park for the 11 day cruise he had to leave, circle around and come back in again because he was beyond the entrance to the parking lot.
